Terms of Use

Broadside is published by Deep Fathom LLC. By using this site you agree to these terms.

Last updated: May 22, 2026

1. What Broadside is

Broadside is an editor-curated news publication covering US federal compliance — CMMC, DFARS, FAR, CUI, NIST 800-171/172, FedRAMP, and related state programs. Content is selected and reviewed by human editors, with AI assistance for classification, drafting, and illustration.

Broadside is not legal or compliance advice. Stories summarise and link to primary regulatory sources. Nothing published here constitutes a legal opinion, compliance determination, or recommendation to act. Consult qualified counsel for compliance guidance.

2. Access and accounts

Reading Broadside is free and requires no account. Some features — digest subscriptions and public submissions — require you to provide an email address or submit content, which is subject to additional terms in sections 4 and 5.

3. Intellectual property

Story text, headlines, briefs, and illustrations published on Broadside are © Deep Fathom LLC. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link to the original story. Republication of full stories requires written permission from hello@deepfathom.ai.

Broadside links to and summarises publicly available primary sources — regulatory filings, agency documents, and press releases. Those materials are the property of their respective creators and are referenced for editorial commentary purposes.

4. Digest subscriptions

By subscribing to the Broadside digest you confirm:

  • You are the owner of, or authorised to subscribe, the email address you provide.
  • You understand you will receive regular editorial emails from Broadside and occasional service notices from Deep Fathom.
  • You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

5. Public submissions

By submitting content through the Submit form you:

  • Represent that you have the right to share the information submitted.
  • Grant Deep Fathom a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to review, edit, and publish the submitted content in whole or in part, with editorial attribution.
  • Understand that submission does not guarantee publication. All submissions are subject to editorial review.
  • Understand that submitting is not anonymous (your IP address is used for rate limiting during the session) and that editors can see any contact details you include.

Do not submit confidential information, classified material, personal data about third parties without their consent, or material subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

6. Third-party content and links

Broadside links to external sources as part of its editorial coverage. Deep Fathom does not endorse, control, or guarantee the accuracy of third-party content and is not responsible for any harm arising from your reliance on it.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Broadside is provided "as is." Deep Fathom makes no warranties — express or implied — regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of editorial content. Regulatory and compliance information changes frequently; always verify current requirements against authoritative primary sources.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Deep Fathom is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on content published on Broadside.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
